Whitbread has announced the appointment of Stuart Hookins as Estates Director for the UK & Ireland, following the retirement of Simon Hobbs after nearly 20 years with the group. Stuart joins from Royal Mail Group where he has been serving as Group Property Director.
Marwan Hemchaoui has joined the recently relaunched Cotswolds property Dumbleton Hall as Managing Director. He previously served as Managing Director of The Lakes by Yoo, a hotel and private residences estate. He also has prior experience with PoB Hotels, holding the role of General Manager at Ellenborough Park for seven years.
Vail Resorts has announced that Bill Hornbuckle has been appointed to the group’s Board of Directors. Bill is currently Chief Executive Officer and President of MGM Resorts International and has held the role for the past six years. Before taking the CEO role, he held a number of senior leadership roles with the group across operations and marketing.
Christian Poda has been named as Vice President of Operations for Europe & North Africa at Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, responsible for overseeing both Fairmont and Raffles hotels in the region. He has previously spent over a decade with Four Seasons, most recently serving as Regional VP & General Manager in Hong Kong.
Rosewood, Cape Kidnappers has appointed Ray Jingshu Zhang as Director of Operations. Ray joins the New Zealand property from Lake House Daylesford, one of Australia’s leading luxury lodge destinations, where he served as General Manager.
Pedro Samper has been named as the new Director of Culinary for The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore. Pedro most recently served as Executive Chef at The Ritz-Carlton, Maldives, Fari Islands.
Raffles Hotel, Singapore has announced the promotion of Leenu Tarani to Director of Marketing Communications. She joined the property in 2015 and has held several roles in the marketing team, most recently as department head.
Gagandeep Singh Hanjra has joined Marriott International as Senior Director of Revenue Strategy, West India. He has previously worked with international brands including Accor, The Indian Hotels Company Limited and ITC Hotels.
Loews Hotels & Co has promoted Brian Johnson to the role of Area Managing Director of its Arlington Hotel Collection. Brian has over 24 years of experience with the group, most recently serving as Managing Director of Loews, Kansas City Hotel.
